As a RBT I have been working with children ages 2-9 with autism. I run teaching programs with them, alongside behavioral programs as well. I work with potty training programs, eating programs, and help our older kiddos become more prepared for a school setting. All of my clients are very different, and I enjoy the ins and outs of running their individualized programs. Watching and helping them reach their goals is a passion of mine!

IUMCH Family Teacher - Indiana United Methodist Children's Home

As a family teacher, my job was to supervise houses of youth ages 15-18, typically transferred from other placements, some brought by CPS or probation, etc. There would have anywhere from 7-10 youth per house on a normal day. I would engage in family style interactions, such as cooking with the youth, taking them on outings, ensuring they completed their expected chores and duties, being a shoulder for support, etc.
While also having the tolerance level to discipline, when necessary and without bias. IUMCH followed a behavioral model system that was beneficial for staff and youth.
