I have a 20-year record of successful innovation in the medical Informatics and healthcare analytics industries. After selling my first company, focused on research-oriented electronic medical records, I entered the field of healthcare policy consulting. Working with policymakers at both the state and federal level, contributing to legislation as a domain expert, and engaging on healthcare reform task forces are achievements that have educated my approach to implementation of everything from clinical decision support systems, to meaningful use, and beyond.
I joined the renowned Geisinger Health System in 2009 and completed my Fellowship in Clinical Re-engineering and Transformation at Geisinger Innovation before being made system-wide Physician Lead for Clinical Analytics. In 2012, I joined Oracle Corp.’s Health Sciences Global Business Unit as Physician Architect for Clinical Analytics, where I was responsible for product development, strategy, and business development as well as license and services sales support as the primary deep domain expert in the field. My expertise expanded significantly during my service evangelizing clinical genomics for precision oncology at Syapse, where I contributed to advancing personalized cancer treatment through innovative data integration and analysis.
Additionally, I provided thought leadership and business development for Hive Networks, a spin-off of Cincinnati Children's Anderson Center for Quality, supporting the Learning Health Networks paradigm.
Currently, as Senior Principal and CMIO at Symphony Corporation, I leverage my extensive experience in healthcare technology and medical informatics to provide program oversight and deployment of bespoke managed services for large healthcare enterprises.
I am also involved in supporting the nonprofit sector, running a consultancy that supports the OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics) community. This involves helping organizations and their leadership interested in medical outcomes research generate real world evidence (RWE) by utilizing the OMOP Common Data Model and an ecosystem of open source applications.
I possess a unique combination of skills, which include clinical acumen, a strong information technology background, and first-hand experience in implementing innovation and transformation across large healthcare enterprises. My work in population health, precision medicine, consulting, and non-profit leadership reflects my commitment to advancing healthcare through technology and collaboration.
