I just graduated from Indiana University East with a bachelor's degree in general studies in the field of humanities and social science with minors in psychology and communications. My past experience are in customer service, graphic design, and technology. I'm looking to have a career in public relations or as an assistant manager.
I have experience working in retail and helping customers find the clothing they desire for school, special events, sports, and other fashionable wear. I worked at a register as well as used a hand held device to make transactions for customers. I have also had experience working at the meat department at a grocery store stocking inventory using a fork lift.
Another beneficial experience was working at a call center trying to turn old customers back into new customers for AT&T. I had to memories a script and use diffuser methods to win the customers trust. My locator position at the city of Fishers was also beneficial because I worked with contractors and engineers in marking locations of utility using a hand head unit and updating GIS software or mapping system.
I have also worked as a GIS Coordinator updating the GIS with sewer locations for the Engineering department as well as underground and aboveground wiring for Light & Power. I have worked as an assistant for the Technician at the IT department for the city of Anderson. I have also worked in a Finance company and did clerical work like filing and mailing out invoices.
I went to Indiana University East to complete my bachelor's in general studies in the field of humanities and social science. I accomplished a minors in psychology and a minors in communication. My specialty includes public relations, advocacy, and web design.
I enjoyed doing group assessments and writing research papers in APA style. I liked the one where we did a report on diversity in relationships and use knowledge from what we learned about interpersonal communication skills. In my psychology research class we had to do a survey, show a scatterplot diagram, and gather random samples on Indiana university students.
The results showed a correlation to the use of social media and the cause of procrastination. I would say my favorite classes was ethics, cross cultural communications, and personality psychology. “When we understand people better, we have better relationships with them. And when we understand ourselves better, we make better life choices.” - David C.
