- Obtain, record, update and maintain patients' dental records and health history. Charting exams, treatment information and perform intraoral procedures as directed and supervised by the dentist.
- Make and confirm appointments. Check in patients using TRX and PASS. Seat and dismiss patients. Prep patients for treatment and prepare instruments for a variety of procedures.
- Passing and receiving instruments using 4-handed dentistry. Maintaining a clear field of vision using a high-speed evacuator and saliva ejector. Cleanup of the area at the end of the procedure using infection control techniques advised by the CDC guidelines.
- Taking intraoral and extraoral radiographs to include digital and panorex.
- Cleaning, processing and sterilization of dental instruments in accordance with CDC guidelines. Prepare patient trays, clean operatories and general housekeeping duties. Maintaining a sterile environment. Follow and implement all HIPAA, OSHA, WISHA, CDC and Privacy Practice Acts.
- Trained in coronal polish, applying fluoride varnish, placing and removing rubber dams, pacing cord, removing sutures, placing matrix bands and wedges, placing dycal and vitrebond, etching the tooth, applying bond and/or desensitizing agents.
- Provide written and verbal instructions for post-operative/treatment care. Giving oral hygiene instructions. Instructing the patient in proper brushing and flossing techniques. Showing how to care for dental appliances and about the causes of tooth decay.
- Maintain and order supplies and special-order materials as needed. Trained in standard charting, periodontal charting and taking vitals.
- Perform an assortment of dental clinical, administrative, and clerical duties.
- Current Basic Life Support, Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), HIPAA and current on all mandatory training.
