am a Senior undergraduate student working to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a pre-med concentration. Specifically, I am seriously considering the possibility of becoming an OB-GYN, or an Obstetrician-gynecologist as my future residency and career. If I could have my choice, I would love to serve a smaller community, such as Ruston, and improve the quality of care women often lack in their reproductive and sexual health.
There is a shortage of understanding and compassion for women’s health, and I aspire to play my part in changing that unfortunate reality for many women in my community.
I have worked as an office assistant for the Alexandria City Court, and am thus proficient with computer skills, filing, organization, interpersonal communication, etc. I have also shadowed and worked closely with several doctors, including a general practitioner (Dr. Amy Griffin, M.D.) and an orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and hip replacements (Dr.
Tim Randall, M.D.). I am currently beginning research with Dr. Maness and her research team at Louisiana Tech as well in order to strengthen my research experience.
I am very proactive in my academic career, both throughout high school (graduating with a 4.23 GPA) and in college (currently maintaining a 3.91 GPA). I have taken a variety of rigorous classes and labs such as Cell Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and even Genetics- all of which I believe has been very integral to my preparation for medical school. Currently, I am a senior Undergraduate at Louisiana Tech University, and I will graduate in May 2023.
