Hi, my name is Sarah.
I am a passionate Early Childhood Educator who believes that children thrive when they feel seen, heard, respected, and genuinely connected to the people and environment around them. I bring an empathetic and intuitive approach to teaching, taking the time to understand each child as an individual and to honor their unique pace, interests, strengths, and ways of learning.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in play-based, nature-based, and child-led learning. I believe children learn best through meaningful experiences, exploration, curiosity, and the freedom to follow their own interests. I value creating an environment where children can take risks, make discoveries, build relationships, and develop confidence as capable learners.
As an educator, I prioritize growth and lifelong learning, both for the children in my care and for myself. I am continually reflecting on my practice, learning from the children, and looking for ways to grow as an individual and educator. I see teaching as a collaborative process where children and teachers learn alongside one another.
I am also an artist, and creativity is an important part of who I am and how I teach. I am especially passionate about child-led process art, where the focus is on exploration, experimentation, and the experience of creating rather than on producing a specific finished product. I love providing children with open-ended materials and opportunities to express themselves, make choices, and discover their own creative voices.
As a Lead Teacher, I hope to create a nurturing, inspiring classroom community where children feel a strong sense of belonging and are encouraged to be curious, creative, confident, and authentically themselves.
