You won't find a better, faster, funnier writer than me. I have published two books, Marilou Is Everywhere, a novel, and I Live in a Hut, a poetry collection. I have MFAs from two of the top three writing programs in the world (fiction at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, poetry at the Michener Center for Writers).
In one form or another, I have written professionally since 2005, when I was part of an information design team which overhauled the USPS change of address form. Since then, I've written ad scripts for Wieden + Kennedy, delivered keynote lectures on Appalachian literature, developed product taxonomies for Google Shopping, and bootstrapped my own promotional materials for my online classes. (In addition to writing novels, short stories, essays, and poems, of course.)
Most recently, I've worked as a freelance developmental editor for novelists who need help structuring their books and rendering point of view consistently. In the past, I've also developed and taught my own craft courses and workshops, some hosted through my own website and others housed at Catapult.
Previously, I worked as a business analyst and technical writing contractor onsite at Google Pittsburgh, proofread at The Austin Chronicle, served as managing editor and poetry editor at Bat City Review, and worked as an editorial assistant at Carnegie Mellon University Press.
