Hi, I'm Scott
Artist, engineer & dad. Collaborating on a different kind of world. Into collective art, activism, therapy, and open source nerdy stuff.
Actively seeking my next role
Formerly Developer Experience Engineer @Weaveworks, Senior DevOps Engineer @Codecademy, and Principal Engineer Technical Team Lead for TV networks @NBCUniversal, I’m a highly technical and innovative engineering IC and thought leader. My previous corporate roles have helped me better understand how to foster and measure up-to-date technology and end-user engagement as part of a company's global business strategy. The independent developer community and computing foundation roles keep me in constant contact with wider open-source contributor and end-user communities, their needs and challenges, and what’s on the horizon.

★ Actively involved in developer relations for software communities
★ Developing and maintaining widely used, critical open-source software projects In recent years, I've focused on:
★ Working with developers to improve their daily work experiences
★ Collaborating on creating content - presentations, docs, demos, tutorials, onboarding guides, and community updates
★ Organizing and speaking - including keynoting - at Cloud Native events, meetups and global conferences
When in leadership positions, I work to ensure:
★ Roles, responsibilities, accountability, and priorities are all clear before proceeding
★ Known risks are communicated appropriately to stakeholders, discussed as a team, and weighed and accepted by an assigned product owner
★ Cross-team communication and collaboration are encouraged
★ Individuals are supported to address problems early in a blame-free environment, and lessons learned are applied moving forwardwith The Bottom Line

My strongest areas are team leadership, communication, and technical innovation. I strive to guide by example and smooth the path for engineers to achieve their highest potential, succeed as a team, and feel proud of our collective efforts.
