Scott Rubén La Marca, Tenor
Scott Rubén La Marca is a tenor based in New York. He is a Masters candidate in vocal performance at the Manhattan School of Music where he studies with Marlena Malas. He recently had his role debut as “l’italien” with The Manhattan School of Music’s Opera Theater, in “Angélique” by Jacques Ibert — under the baton of Pierre Vallet and the stage direction of John de los Santos.
In the summer of 2022, Scott Rubén covered the role of Thaddeus Stevens in Virgil Thomson’s opera, “The Mother of Us All”, with the Chautauqua Opera Company, conducted by Steven Osgood and directed by Keturah Stickann. In the summer of 2023, he will attend The Aspen Music Festival and School, and will also sing the role of “Liverotto” in New Amsterdam Opera’s production of Donizetti’s, “Lucrezia Borgia.” His recent stage credits also include Gastone in “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi with The Lighthouse Opera Company, and Camille in “The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehár, with Queens College Opera.
