I have a background in chemistry focusing in biochemistry. I also have experience in a government environmental lab. Currently, I inspect public water systems for compliance with the regulations.
I interned at Pennsylvania's Bureau of Labs for two summers(2013 and 2014), gaining experience in analyzing environmental samples. In this time, I worked in the gravimetrics lab, automated analysis, and microbiology lab. I assisted other chemists with their work when I was caught up with mine.
During graduate school, I worked as a research assistant at Duquesne University investigating the sources of elevated chloride in the Pine Creek Watershed located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. This research was presented and defended in March 2019.
I currently work at Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection as a sanitarian. I have been in that position since March 2019. In this role, I inspect public water systems, track their compliance to the regulations, assist coworkers in training, attend professional trainings to advance my education, review applications, and file paperwork maintained for Right-to-Know reviews.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
I earned my Master's in Environmental Science and Management from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
