During his undergraduate career, Shane worked in an optics and materials engineering lab specializing in two-photon absorption. He successfully synthesized and characterized carbon quantum dots along with other dyes.
After graduating in 2018, Shane went into full-time Christian ministry, where he learned vital teaching and leadership skills that are translational to any field. He successfully led multiple, month long mission trips to Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. During this time, he was also a private tutor and instructor at the Princeton Review, equipping future doctors in chemistry.
In the Fall of 2021, Shane began his graduate studies and thesis at the University of Central Florida, electrospinning polymer and surfactant together as nanofibers for biomedical applications. The nanofibers underwent SEM, FTIR, and UV-VIS analysis.
Alongside his thesis research, Shane assisted in new product formulations for epoxies, anaerobic-cured, and UV-cured adhesives at Hernon Manufacturing Inc. ensuring high-quality standards that exceed customer expectations.
Shane currently uses his expertise in science and leadership as a Quality Assurance Manager at Beekman 1802, a skin health brand based on the clinical science of two ingredients: Goat Milk and Kindness.
