August Corso Sons, Inc. traces its roots back to 1941, when August Corso, Sr. and his family relocated their truck farming business to its current location. In 1949, a retail flower shop was added to supply local customers with flowering plants from the Corso greenhouses. The business expanded in 1973 to include a full-service garden center, and a landscape department was added five years later. In 2005, a 70-acre farm was purchased in Castalia to expand the wholesale operation.
August Corso Sons, Inc. includes a greenhouse, full service flower shop, garden center, landscape department, and wholesale perennial plant division. This encompasses wholesale production, 32 acres (13 hectares) of outdoor production, 30 acres (12 hectares) of greenhouse production and 24,300 square feet of retail greenhouse production. Around 11 million plants are produced each year.
