My name is Shari Birch and I am a South African who moved to the United States six years ago. My unique background and exposure to various cultures has been a major asset for me in the US workforce. I am able to use my skills of communication and relationship building to influence and gain consensus for initiatives that drive organizational effectiveness.
I believe an organization is not operating optimally until employees are served first. The way to produce maximum output is to create a base of workers who are committed and invested in the vision of the company. I am excited for an opportunity where I feel like I can make a difference.
In my current role, I have the opportunity to utilize my passion of understanding people in leadership development. I am involved in leadership training and I create materials to present in front of large groups of Houston Methodist Directors and Managers. I am working on projects that will contribute to organizational effectiveness such as our updated competency model, where we include diversity, equity and inclusion aspects as well as emotional intelligence components.
I am the project manager for programs that serve our ~30,000 employee base and run across 9 campuses all over Houston. I engage with senior management, facilitators and employees to efficiently deploy the program across the system.
I received a master's degree in Human Resources Management from Houston Baptist University.
