School Counselor, Counselor Educator
Utilize the comprehensive counseling program to meet the needs of all students • Utilize PowerSchool by adding and modifying class schedules and enrolling new students • Collaborate with Curriculum Specialist and teachers for state testing • Conduct classroom lessons and facilitate IEP/504 Plan meetings • Provide group and individual counseling and conduct IGP meetings • Develop and implement mentoring /support groups • Schedule and facilitate individual and group counseling sessions • Implement tier 1 social-emotional curriculum for all students; this includes teaching whole-class lessons and/or development of lesson plans for teachers to implement (7 Mindsets intervention) • Participate in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) meetings and develop action plans for including families and communities in all aspects of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) • Support students’ academic, social-emotional, and career-readiness achievement and promote positive school climate. • Analyze student data to create action plans on the school, grade, classroom, and individual level • Identify needs of students and families and coordinate connection to resources including food pantry donations, clothing banks, community events, etc. • Serve on the crisis response team • Attend attendance team meetings • Provide professional development to teachers and leaders in areas of expertise • Arrange for opportunities for parents and caregivers to engage with school personnel including leaders, teachers, and support staff • Perform other duties as requested
