I apply population genetic approaches to investigate the links between genetic information and disease. In my work, I have developed and optimized data pipelines, parallelizing tasks to enhance processing efficiency, reduce runtimes, and improve overall workflow performance in an HPC environment. Some tasks I conduct on a daily basis for example include running GWAS and PheWAS on data from BioMe, a database containing genomic samples and Electronic Health Records from over 50,000 patients.
Collaborating with clinicians and bioinformaticians, I perform analyses and data extractions from BioMe data while also developing data processing pipelines to integrate with the existing BioMe Biobank. Additionally, I manage restricted datasets, ensuring quality control, access, and de-identification.
I have worked in both academic and healthcare fields. In the past I also have experience in wetlab and will on occasion assist wet lab scientists to complete projects. I also have prior teaching experience with children and adults which helped further my communication skills
I have a masters at Johns Hopkins University in bioinformatics and have a bachelors at New York University in Biomolecular Science.
