Simon Wannehag Hagene

In the last 5+ years I have gained a solid work experience with quality assurance, translation and creative writing for two global platforms (Apple and HBO/Warnermedia). I’m solution-oriented, curious, a team player and interested in all kinds of tech, media and entertainment. I also have more than 8+ years of working experience from writing, interviewing, directing, filming and editing projects in Asia, Europe and the US.

Further, I have been part of several film productions, content developments, social media campaigns and employer branding projects for large global companies to small start-ups.

I grew up in Scandinavia, received my Bachelor of Arts in Film in Singapore, then my Master of Fine Arts in San Fransisco. Currently living the Californian dream in Santa Monica.

Fall 2021 to present —> QA Specialist at HBO Max (via Insight Global) - Santa Monica, CA (remote) • Part of the Business Operations team for HBO Max in the European market (main focus on Nordics).

• Localization, quality control, contribute to daily reports, communicate errors and when it’s fixed.
• Verify metadata, images, video, subtitles, audios and the general functionality of the app.
• Partial team lead, project management and assist other teams where necessary.

2017-2021 —> Linguistic QA Tester & Creative Writer at Apple (via Welocalize) – Cupertino & Culver City, CA (on-site and remote)

• Tester, translator and creative writer (Norwegian/Swedish/English) for Apple as part of a large international team.

Mainly in charge of Norwegian translation, proofreading and verification on the various apps.

• Apple TV+, App Store, Arcade, Apple Music, the website, marketing emails and more.

Fall 2016 —> Teacher Assistant at San Francisco State University - Undergraduate class in screenwriting

• Read and gave feedback on papers in class. Assisted with teaching and following up weekly tasks.

Summer 2016 —> Videographer & Video Editor at Little Passports – San Francisco (on-site internship)

• Was an intern in a company selling subscriptions for kids toys and learning tools.
• Produced short videos for social media accounts and the website.

• In charge of directing, filming and editing various projects for social media and the website.
