Since graduating from the University of Oregon in June of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in communication disorders and sciences, I have been eagerly seeking an opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills in a professional setting. Throughout my college journey, I have gained valuable experience that has equipped me with the necessary tools to excel in the field.
During my time at Birdsong Speech Therapy, I served as the administrative business partner where I effectively managed the intricate process of liaising between insurance companies and clients. My attention to detail ensured accurate and timely financial transactions contributing to the smooth operation of the clinic. Additionally, my role in coordinating the scheduling for all speech-language pathologists honed my organizational and communication abilities, which are vital skills in delivering effective therapeutic services.
My dedication to education and individualized support is evidenced by my work as a tutor at the Academic Achievement Center and by being an educational assistant in a Special Education classroom at an elementary school. I tailored educational lessons to the unique needs of each student, fostering a conducive learning environment in establishing academic progress. These jobs have shown me my commitment to helping students with diverse needs achieve their fullest potential.
I am proud to have participated in various volunteer organizations including Therapy Abroad, a communication disorders and sciences program in Belize, where I gained hands-on experience with speech sound disorder and autism spectrum disorder clients. My involvement in Oregon adaptive sports and the Listen to Me conference/ camp at Stanford Medicine showcased my dedication to community engagement and serving individuals with disabilities.
