I recently graduated from Pennslyvania State University with a Bachelor's in Biology. My coursework has included Biology, Physics, and General and Organic Chemistry. Outside the classroom, I have worked in research, teaching, and philanthropic ventures. Now, I hope to enter the healthcare field, in order to gain a more hands on experience before medical school!
As a research assistant at the Child Health Study, I gained clinical and research experience with children and adults. In this role, I learned how to handle complex participant situations and how to work with external partners in a clinical setting. I also have research experience as an assistant for the Bharti Lab of Infectious Diseases, where I provide computer analysis support on research projects.
Through this, I have significantly increased my knowledge of Python and ArcGIS Pro and how to use these programs in a research setting.
In the Fall of 2023, I was a Learning Assistant for The Biology of Infectious Diseases, a 400-level course on the biology and management of infectious pathogens. In this role, I held office hours and exam reviews to aid students in their understanding of complex disease mechanisms and management protocols. This experience allowed me to enhance my teaching and communication skills.
This past year, I served as a THON ™(the world's largest student-run philanthropy) volunteer as one of the Special Event Sales Captains on the Merchandise committee. In this role, I was in charge of planning all Special Events throughout the year, and alongside my committee, we ended the year with a record-breaking profit. This role enhanced my leadership, project management, and collaboration skills.
