I am passionate about helping others and making a difference in any way I can. I've always been able to excel at what I do because I take pride in working hard and being successful. I love solving puzzles and finding creative solutions, which makes me a great problem solver and an asset to any team I'm on.
I am a person with many hobbies and interests. There are thousands of directions my career can take and still be fulfilling and meaningful for me. I've never been fired from a job and I have always found ways to thrive where I'm planted.
I began as a 21st Century English Teacher, which was a pilot program where I taught remedial English to high schoolers and used technology to make the classroom more engaging. I worked in a high poverty school district and taught students who failed the state competency exams for reading and/or writing. Not only did I have to find ways to get them on-track to graduate, I had to motivate them to stay and do it.
In finance, I worked at a family owned investment firm where I was in charge of all photography, social media, the company website, vendor contracts, office management, client accounts, IT, and marketing. As the Assistant Portfolio Manager, I became licensed to sell insurance products and performed portfolio balancing and transactions.
I eventually moved into a learning and development role at the largest senior living company in the United States where I developed a training program for associates in office management, finance, and HR roles. I worked closely with corporate experts from all departments to determine what to teach and when/how to teach it. I redesigned the training website and created training courses, on-demand videos, reference guides, live webinars, and helped with revisions to policies and job descriptions.
I have a bachelor's degree in extended English education and am a licensed life, accident, and health insurance agent for the state of Arizona.
