Saudia Young is a New York-born actress & singer with caramel whiskey-drenched vocals, boundless stage presence, and a sassy storytelling style. Young studied at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and with acting coach Wynn Handman. Young founded two theater projects in Berlin and wrote and performed a solo theater piece, Sneaker Revolution in New York.
Her performance and production experience spans over thirty years, with band theatre and film projects in New York, Berlin, and Los Angeles. Oung's first Teaching Artist experiences were with the 52n Street Project which focused on script writing and short play production. In addition to performance and production, Young has a background in visual arts and design as an artist assistant to designer sculptor Cara Croninger and via her own accessories business Dilettante1962.
Young seeks to empower inner-city youth with storytelling skills that manifest in all art forms.

The Actors Fund Teaching Artist program was a six-week introduction to TA curriculum creation. The focus was both on craft and storytelling for ages 5 through 12.
