Susan Johnson

I am a career educator with a passion for teaching and learning. I’ve been an educator for three decades and am moving into a different role from classroom teacher. What that is, I’m not 100% sure yet. I am enthusiastic, adaptable, and collaborative. I am a leader, willing to learn new things, and have experience in many areas from teaching that are paralleled in the workforce. I am looking forward to a new endeavor!

My professional experience is in public education as a primary teacher. I have taught elementary students, mentored student teachers, supervised student teachers and taught college graduates and undergraduates as an adjunct faculty member. I am a yoga instructor for adults and children and a group fitness instructor.

My experiences in these capacities have encompassed many skills and strategies for dealing with human beings. I have developed positive rapport with families, students and colleagues. I manage data collection, report writing, and meeting deadlines.

I have served on committees working on new initiatives, served as facilitator and participated in a variety of professional development . The professional development spans topics from conflict resolution, social justice to de-escalation strategies, social emotion learning skills to technology and curriculum implementation.

I have my post master’s certificate in Education Administration (principal licensure). I have my master’ in curriculum and instruction. I have completed Yoga Teacher Training for adults and children. I have my Group Fitness I structure certification.
