Recovery is a challenge and living a sober life is a huge accomplishment that not all addicts believe they can achieve. The fact is most people can overcome addiction; it takes desire, determination, and a support team who is there to provide compassion, understanding, empathy, assistance, and love.
I excel at providing this important support because helping people is what I truly love to do and because an important part of my own recovery is giving back to the community what I have been given. Though I suffer from bipolar disorder and have a history of addiction, I have been stable, clean, and sober for over 10 years with the support of professionals and family.
In college I studied psychology, which was a natural subject for a helper who wants to make the world a better place. Recently, I just completed the CASAT course for Peer Support Specialist provisional certification and am currently seeking employment.
