Clinical research on cord blood transplantation in patients with lymphoid malignancies and clinical research on double umbilical cord blood (UCB) transplantation. Leading an investigation regarding the effectiveness of nonmyeloablative UCB transplantation for patients with lymphoid malignancies (lymphatic system cancers) resulted in one of the first studies to do so. Based on the importance and novelty of these findings, the research was selected for publication in the Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation journal in an article titled, "Promising progression-free survival for patients low and intermediate grade lymphoid malignancies after nonmyeloablative umbilical cord blood transplantation." This study was also presented at the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, one of the premier research gatherings in the field of Hematology.
