Sydney Wurst

I'm Sydney Wurst, a lifelong New Yorker with a deep-rooted passion for event planning. I currently run my own business, Moments by Sydney Rose, while serving as a freelance event planner.

My philosophy is simple: life is too short not to celebrate every milestone. I believe in the power of hospitality to make people feel cherished, welcomed, and present during life’s best moments. It’s my goal to be the eyes and ears of every event I plan, and to anticipate every need a client could have. This ensures that my clients can relax and enjoy every moment of their special day, knowing that they're in capable creative hands.

My career in event planning began with creating and hosting fundraising events. First, leading an annual pancake brunch to raise money for Parkinson’s Research, and then leading a 24-hour dance marathon to raise money for Duke Children’s Hospital.

As a Child Life Specialist, from 2020- 2023, I had the privilege of planning special events for children in a hospital. Bringing joy and comfort to those going through a challenging time is a job I undertook with great attention to detail, empathy, and love.

In August of 2023, I transitioned to being a full time event planner. I worked part-time as a freelancer for two successful event planners in New York City and Long Island, while simultaneously starting my own business due to client interest. I have successfully planned and coordinated almost 40 in the last year, and am eager to see what next year has in store!

I received my undergraduate degree from Elon University, majoring in Human Service Studies and Psychology.
