Data Analyst working on Master's in Data Analytics.

While in my most recent role at Utah Retirement Systems (URS), I have collected and analyzed data to help make decisions on what markets we would be interested in, when to buy and sell properties, and even with company surveys to help leadership understand the need and wants of employees. I have created research reports on two new asset classes URS has never invested in before, industrial outdoor storage (IOS) and cold storage. Three months after I made the IOS presentation we committed $75 Million into a large IOS portfolio.

This was one of the most interesting and satisfying projects I have worked on. I discovered I really enjoy doing economic research and want to continue to analyze data to help make more informed decisions.

With my more than two years of experience in quantitative analysis I have helped create reports and presentations using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, R, SQL, Power BI etc. These skills are something I want to continually develop in my future roles, as well as soft skills like talking on the phone and communicating with clients. These are skills that I have worked on in my career and want to continually work on.

I completed my degree in Economics in 2021 from the University of Utah. I am currently enrolled at Western Governors University in a Master's in Data Analytics and expected to graduate in 2024.
