my name is Taryn Nakamura and I have graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with my B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition (2022). I am expected to finish my M.S in Food Science in May 2025.
As a masters student, my researc focuses on carotenoid and anthocyanin quantification of radish microgreens. During my time as a student, I interned with the USDA-ARS. Here, I worked on ELISA, RNA extraction and nuclei isolation.
I have worked on food safety at Ted's Bakery. At this job, I ensured that food was brought up and remained at a safe temperature, ensured that the dish washer was working properly and that the sanitization solution was at the correct pH.
I am expected to finish my M.S. in Food Science in May from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
