My teaching career objective is to be able to guide children to grow up to be stable, productive citizens who honor their country, their families, and themselves with education. I want to foster the enjoyment of learning in a positive and safe environment, challenging students to reach their maximum potential. My chosen field is to be an elementary school teacher.
Elementary school is a formative time for children to develop a strong foundation and be guided on the right path to building happy, productive lives. I was compelled to apply to Valley Christian School because I love that this school offers rigorous academics with authentic Christian education.
To become a hard-working individual, I observed my family and friends working hard to reach their goals, doing whatever was necessary. I noted their passion and determination. Once I realized my passion was to teach, I found the strength to pursue that goal. I have worked hard to make my dream come to life so that I can have a positive impact on children.
Having grown up as a Korean, I have lived in a multicultural environment and experienced the bias of many people. As a result, I have learned the value of diversity in our schools and communities. Bias can strangle progress; can impede the success of many bright, competent people; and can be dangerous to the lives of many who suffer the bias of race, creed, or culture.
I have done well academically in the teaching program and will continue that pattern of working diligently as a teacher should I be offered a position. I am confident that I would make a desirable teacher at a private school and meet its stringent teaching performance and leadership standards as a graduate of the teaching program with a Master's Degree.
