As a Location Manager I am tasked with scouting, negotiating, scheduling, and facilitating film and television productions at commercial, residential, industrial, and government owned properties. I have been a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE Local 478) since 2020. I work closely with directors, producers, production designers, and vendors to meet the location needs of the production; creating scouting itineraries and coordinating with all departments to ensure their needs are met at each specific location.
I schedule and coordinate security, equipment rentals, secure releases, local/state permitting, among a host of other responsibilities including manual labor that falls under the purview of the locations department.
I have worked in the film industry in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi. I have managed, scouted, and assistant managed hundreds of filming locations. Since 2020 I have managed and created location management budgets totaling millions dollars for film and television productions.
The most important aspect of my job is cultivating relationships with property owners, film/television producers, unit production managers (UPMs), film commissioners, government employees, law enforcement agencies, and vendors throughout the Greater New Orleans area and beyond. I am an efficient problem solver, able to think quickly on my feet and find solutions to production and logistics related problems. I maintain adherence to budgets and guidelines set forth by producers and production companies.
