About

Mechanical designer with 15+ years of SolidWorks experience spanning electric motors, oil and gas, automated manufacturing, medical devices, and automotive/trailer products. Comfortable building 3D models, 2D fabrication drawings, large assemblies, sheet metal, and weldments from a rough sketch, a customer spec, or just a conversation about what's needed. I spent time using DriveWorks automation to cut down repetitive assembly and drawing work, on top of the usual GD&T, ECR/ECO, and EPDM/PDM documentation.

Known on past teams for clean, manufacturable drawings and for being easy to work with across engineering, manufacturing, and the shop floor.

Experience

Mechanical Designer - Infinitum Electric - Austin, TX

(2023-03)

  • Model electric motor components, fixtures, and full assemblies in SolidWorks, then turn them into 2D drawings for R&D, manufacturing, and test teams.
  • Built out DriveWorks automation that generates SolidWorks assemblies, configurations, part numbers, and drawings on its own instead of remodeling the same thing every time.
  • Use 3D printing for quick test fixtures and fit-check parts so design issues get caught early instead of after a full prototype run.
  • Design motor-test fixtures and mechanical support hardware straight from sketches or a quick conversation about what's needed.
  • Run revisions through ECR/ECO and keep EPDM/PDM documentation clean so nothing gets released by mistake.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and test teams to fix manufacturability issues before they hit the floor.

Mechanical Designer - ICON Technologies Inc. - Austin, TX

(2022-06 - 2023-02)

  • Designed and improved parts and for a large 3D printing robotic system used in additive construction.
  • Delt with SolidWorks subassemblies and generated fabrication drawings that went with them.
  • Took rough engineering concepts and turned them into actual manufacturable parts and release-ready documentation.
  • Handled ECR/ECO revisions in EPDM and kept engineering and manufacturing on the same page as things changed.

SolidWorks Designer - PJ Trailers - Sumner, TX

(2022-02 - 2023-03)

  • Built 3D models, 2D fabrication drawings, and weldment details for utility trailers and car haulers.
  • Worked with the shop and assembly teams on design tweaks and drawing corrections that actually fixed production issues.
  • Kept EPDM/PDM organized for version control and design releases.

SolidWorks Designer/Drafter - Nabors Corporate Services - Houston, TX

(2014-09 - 2022-02)

  • Modeled and drew up rig components, structural items, and other oilfield equipment in SolidWorks.
  • Turned sketches, existing drawings, and verbal direction into fabrication drawings that vendors and internal teams could actually build from.
  • Kept drawing standards and documentation consistent across a large, long-running set of engineering files.
  • Used SolidWorks, DraftSight, and AutoCAD daily, and worked directly with design engineers to solve real fabrication problems.
  • Tracked down and fixed drawing errors that would have otherwise caused issues out in the field.

SolidWorks Designer - Zewski Corporation - Magnolia, TX

(2014-05 - 2014-09)

  • Converted 2D drawings into 3D SolidWorks models for prototype builds and assembly testing.
  • Designed medical-device components with a focus on prototype fit and 3D-printed validation.
  • Prepared the drawings and documentation needed to support patent filings and early production planning.
