Seven years in network engineering. Six of them at Whiteman Air Force Base running a base network on Cisco and Juniper gear, and ten months building out multi-site infrastructure for a commercial food producer. I work in routing, layer 2, SD-WAN, AAA, SNMP, DNS, and ACLs, and I troubleshoot layers 1 through 7 when something breaks. I put Juniper Apstra in as the software defined networking solution for a base layer 3 network and built the out of band management network behind it for redundancy.

Network Support Engineer at Integrated Proteins (2025-05 – 2026-03)

• Built the physical and logical networks for 3 new sites coming online. Fortinet 70G firewalls behind FortiManager for layer 3 and firewalling, Aruba switches and access points for layer 2 and wireless.
• Ran Active Directory. Updated the schema for role based authentication and kept DNS current as new systems came onto the network.
• Stood up a PXE imaging server on FOG, running on a Debian 12 virtual machine hosted in Proxmox and backed up to VEEAM.
• Handled endpoint security across 400+ devices. SentinelOne for protection, Guardicore for traffic visibility, NinjaOne for remote access, patching, and automation.
• Installed and managed the NewBOS applications, Everyweigh and WarehouseBOS, on virtualized Windows servers.
• Put in Hikvision cameras and local NVRs at each site with a central Hikcentral server for access control and video.

Network Engineer / Administrator at U.S. Air Force (2019-06 – 2025-05)

Six years of active duty service. Honorable discharge.

• Installed the network infrastructure for 6 new buildings on base. Three tier architecture on Cisco and Juniper hardware, coordinated across multiple teams.
• Deployed Juniper Apstra as the software defined networking solution for the base layer 3 network. Built an out of band management network into the fabric for redundancy.
• Ran the annual upgrade cycle for Cisco and Juniper switches and routers. SFTP for the file transfers, CLI for the device upgrades, and I coordinated every downtime window with the units affected.
• Helped set the enterprise patching standard. Used ACAS to find and remediate vulnerabilities on Windows workstations and servers, VOIP phones, printers, and encryption devices.
• Tested and applied STIGs to Cisco and Juniper routers, Cisco Call Manager and VOIP gateways, and Windows and Linux servers.
• Supported a network of roughly 6000 users across over 350 switches and routers.
