I’ve been involved in the building trades for over 40 years, starting out as a yard attendant for one of Santa Barbara’s largest General Contractors at the age of 9. Working my way up to general Laborer, joining the Laborers Union in 1983then to Labor Foreman of an underground utilities crew, then to Carpenters Laborer (Bridges) eventually to general Foreman. Working as a Laborer for over 20 years.
Then in 1995, I was given the opportunity to start working as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Backhoe’s ,Excavator’s, Loaders, Dozers, Motor Grader, Compactor, Skid Steers, Trenchers, and some Scrapers. For the last 20 years I’ve been working on mostly over excavations, Land Clearance, Underground Utilities, and hard Demolition. I also spent the last 5 years working in the Simi Valley Landfill as a Heavy Equipment Operator lll,
