As the Executive Director of Aanji-Bimaadiziwin Healing Center Substance Abuse Treatment, I led all facility operations, blending clinical, financial, and administrative oversight to ensure high-quality, compliant addiction care, managing staff, budgets, strategic growth, and community relations while serving as the public face for client recovery programs, from intake to discharge.
Key responsibilities involve operational efficiency, regulatory adherence (CARF, state/federal), fiscal health, staff development, and ensuring evidence-based, patient-centered treatment plans are delivered.
- Leadership & Strategy: Provide overall direction, set strategic goals, and drive program growth and sustainability.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily functions, ensuring efficient, safe, and effective service delivery in a trauma-informed environment.
- Financial Management: Manage budgets, billing, and financial integrity, often working with CFOs and finance teams.
- Clinical Oversight: Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure high standards, evidence-based practices (like CBT/DBT), and quality patient care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to state/federal laws, Medicaid requirements, and accreditation standards (CARF, Joint Commission).
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and develop interdisciplinary staff (clinical, medical, admin).
- Community & External Relations: Build partnerships, manage referral sources, and act as the organization's spokesperson.

Director of Utilization Review, Director of Utilization Contracting, Director of Contracting, Director of Admissions - Magnolia Ranch Recovery - Tennessee, Wisconsin, Minnesota, National

Director of Contracting: Lead efforts and manage logistics and the substantive lifecycle of multiple contracts, and ensure the necessary contracts tracking systems to manage a large number of sub-contracts and grantees (i.e. including IHS contracting, State and County contracts, financial institutions, private companies, Insurance Carriers and other partners) and manage costshared, performance-based sub-contracts and grants to support any and all Human Service, Medical/Behavioral Health/Substance Abuse Treatments, physical plant contractor's, Grant administration, Grant writing and application and commodities procurement, in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight to Board Members, Owners and program managers on contract inception, implementation, and closeout activities, including preparation of contract briefing materials, required approvals, allowances, funding, procurement, property inventory, and audit file documentation.
- Analyze contractual commitments, specifications, and changes and develop a logistical program to prepare necessary subcontracts, purchase agreements, task orders, and subcontract modifications.
- Prepare and negotiate Subcontracts, Purchase Agreements, Independent Consultant Agreements, Contract, and Task Order modifications; negotiate and approve rates and funds sufficiency; perform periodic contract budget monitoring.
- Provide proven experience supervising teams of support staff at the manager level.
- Work with Project Directors to ensure smooth implementation of contracts; organize and manage logistical flow of contract implementation by company contracts managers and relevant team members.
- Organize and conduct periodic contract performance and administrative compliance reviews for project logistics teams.
- Exercise an extensive accounting background from dollars and cents, Adobe, Spread Sheets, Medical Billing and Grant Administration/Financial Justification.

- Director of Admissions: Accomplish admissions human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
- Develop admissions organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional admissions objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Establish admissions operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and patient-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
- Develop admissions financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Maximize revenues by identifying short-term and long-range patient-pay and third-party reimbursement issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to administrative deliberations; recommending options and courses of actions to facility ownership; implementing directives.
- Enhance the Client care delivery system by fostering our admissions function interface with the Clinical and Medical Staff; developing and implementing bed reservations, financial, reimbursement, and other supporting systems.
- Identify current and future patient admissions requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and others in a position to understand service requirements.
- Serve and protect the facility community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, facility policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; maintaining personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand current and future service requirements; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Accomplish the facility's goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Director of Utilization Review: Participate in pre-certifications for admissions with third party payers.
- Conduct admission review activities.

- Maintain accurate UR information and retrieve date for reports.
- Communicate results of third-party reviews to appropriate staff for length of stay coordination and discharge planning.
- Establish and maintain rapport with physicians to ensure adequate, accurate documentation of patient's care.
