Hello, my name is Tori Mei. I am a 2024 graduate of CUNY - John Jay College with a major in Human Services and Community Justice (Counseling).
I have been teaching since the year 2016, when I was only 14 years old. I started off as a volunteer teaching assistant from the summer of 2016 to the summer of 2017. After that, I decided to explore other career options, where I was a packer for Windrew Electronics Inc and a Crew Member for McDonald's.
In the year 2022, I was a summer intern teaching assistant at EXCEL Group, where I helped the teacher with the students who had trouble communicating in English. During the school year 2022-2023, I was an afterschool tutor for Home Sweet Home Tutoring, where I worked with a group of students with their homework each day and making sure that they complete the assignments to the best of their ability. During the summer that year, I was a counselor at University Settlement at P.S. 130, where I kept children engaged with fun activities, engaged in sports with the children, as well as fostering a fun environment for the kids to grow and play.
From September 2023 - May 2024, I was a volunteer afterschool counselor at University Settlement at Ingersoll Community Center, where I had to pick kids up from their schools, provide them with snacks, and made sure that had a fun time. During the summer of 2024, I was an inclusion counselor for Marks JCH Summer Day Camp.
I got my Bachelor's Degree of Science in Human Services and Community Justice in May of 2024 with Honors in my major.
