Empathetic, Self-Motivated, Customer-Focused.
I have been working in leadership and customer-serving roles for the last 12 years. I worked in youth ministry for 9 years (4 years of interning, 1 year of being an Assistant Director, and 4 years of being a Middle School Program Director). Throughout that time I also worked customer service jobs to supplement my income. My passion is people.
I left my career in youth ministry when I moved to Ohio (I got married and my wife wanted to be closer to her family), and I decided I wanted to use my organizational, facilitation, leadership, and people skills in a new industry.
I have since been working in sales, delivery and merchandising - most recently working for a local specialty coffee roaster as the Director of Wholesale and Special Projects (my title is Director of Growth and Culture). I have grown our wholesale program from $7k monthly gross profit to about $14k gross profit in a year. I have helped create structure around this fledgling program to create more stability.
I am looking to continue to grow and be challenged in a larger company environment - the small company I work can't offer the pay or benefits I need to sustain me and my family. It's been a great opportunity and experience, but I am looking to learn and grow in an established workplace that is task-driven, goal-oriented, and serves local communities.
When I was pursuing a career in Youth Ministry, my workplace paid for my pursuit of a BA in Biblical Studies. They had me cease schooling as I took on more responsibilities. I am open to continuing my education when work/life allows for it, but I am not looking to continue in Youth Ministry.
