Tyrian Dorsey

Hey my name is Tyrian Dorsey, I am 19 years old, and I have a 1 year old daughter. I have had many jobs but most of them were fast food. My previous job was in the plant (sugar mill) testing sugar cane samples and sugar.

I rlly enjoyed the job but then there were some issues going on with who I was staying with and the environment I was in. So I moved to DeQuincy with my father and now I am looking for employment to get back on my feet so that me and my daughter can be stable. I have great work ethic, good communication skills, I am a People’s person and I catch on fast.

I’m quiet but very polite and respectful to others who respect me.

working in the sugar mill was a very fun job for me although it was fast pace. The people made it fun. let me tell you what we were doing. You had to be at a certain station as soon as u walked in, if you were confused on where to go the supervisor would tell you where to go.

My supervisor always had me at the window because that’s where you had to be most speedy at or else all the samples coming through the window would pile up on you. I’d take a bag and remove the ticket inside it, then I’d dump my bag on the side and throw the bag the grass was in, in the trash. Next I’d take my ticket (there were always 5 ticket) I’d take one ticket and put it on a fresh bag.

Then I’d take the some of the grass and put it inside the put it in the scale to be measure. To know that you had enough sugar cane (grass), your number on the scale always had to be at 100.889. If it ever went above those numbers you’d have too much and it’d create too much juice and overflow the container.

So after it hit those numbers I’d take my bottle of bleach and spray inside of the bag 1 time, then take my ticket which should now have 4, and I’d put it inside the bag and give it to the person who is at the press. And every 30 minute our supervisor would say ” Clean your area” and that would mean it’s time to rotate.

I was in high school but I didn’t finish because I had gotten pregnant and I didn’t want to be talked about if I went back but I do plan on continuing my education .
