Valerie Smits

I currently am a registered financial assistant who has passed the series 7 and the series 66 and am anticipating studying for the insurance license. Recently moved to a new state looking for a new job opportunity that supports the certifications that I now possess. I come from a teaching background and I want to be able to apply my ability to teach to the financial world.

I have been in and out of the finance world for most of my working career. For 6 years I was a mathematician at Avco Financial Services. For 3 years, was an office manager for the investment banking company Keefe, Bruyette & Woods.

For one year I was an account manager for MetLife. I worked as a substitute teacher for over 10 years. I taught high school math at Trinity academy for a year and a half, and presently for 4 years almost five; I am currently assistant to a financial advisor at United Prairie Financial Network

I have a bachelor's in applied math. I have a master's the art of teaching. I have passed my series 7 and my series 66
