I received the opportunity to become a team captain for football and wrestling. This helped me learn leadership lessons. With several years of working as a ranch manager, I developed patience and learned how to effectively teach others.
This also taught me how the little things matter from checking waters to making sure that kids were never out of my sight during lessons. During my season of wild land firefighting I learned grit, perseverance and courage. During the moments of chaos, I developed the ability to keep calm and grind.
Especially on night ops it demanded a lot and then even more. It's really exhausting and you're very uncomfortable. But you find a way to push through and keep going. These situations molded the person I am today and taught me life long lessons I'll never forget.
Ultimately all these experiences helped build my mentality of never giving up and being a hard worker no matter what.
