Project: Kafka Smart Adapters. The objective is to determine the processing rate of Smart Adapters – TCP2MQ and MQ2TCP, KAFKA2TCP and TCP2KAFKA coupled together and tested with mix of different size messages. Kafka UAT environment was used with Topic 1 configured to connect to 50 KAFKA2TCP Adapters as consumers of Topic 1. TCP2KAFKA Adapter on pzauiec4 server was configured to connect to Topic 2 as producer of UAT broker. Messages were injected form a Linux Server csc2cxn00003519 using Kafkacat command to the input Topic 1. Kafka2TCP adapters consumed the messages from the input Topic and are processed and then sent to tcp2kafka adapter which sent to the output Topic 2 of UAT broker. Offset explorer and a custom monitor were used to get the offset value count of each partition of input Topic 1 and output Topic 2 before injection of messages and after the messages processed.
Flow - Messages were injected to the input Topic 1 which were consumed by 50 KAFKA2TCP adapters which were connected to TCP2KAFKA single adapter. Messages when put in the input Topic 1, they would be processed by KAFKA2TCP to TCP2KAFKA and are finally seen in the output Topic 2. Message sizes used for te
