Institutional agency broker (Nomura Group) providing electronic execution, algorithmic trading, EMS technology, commission management and research to asset managers and hedge funds.

• Designed an execution strategy that became a firm product. Identified a recurring liquidity pattern that existing strategies were not capturing and built the prototype in Newport, refining it hand in hand with a client on their live orders. The design was asymmetric — capture size at the client's price against a benign benchmark, or no trade and no footprint. The quantitative team researched the logic and embedded it into one of Instinet's key algorithmic strategies, adopted across cap tiers on orders running into the millions of shares.
• Sold and supported the full electronic suite into Boston's largest institutional desks — algorithmic strategies, the Instinet execution wheel, DMA, Newport EMS deployment, commission management, and Nomura research.
• Designed algo solutions to client constraints. Helped design custom algo wheels both domestically and globally.
• Grew accounts from high touch into low touch. Landed on cash execution, then expanded the same relationship into algos, EMS, CSAs and research — selling to head traders, portfolio managers, quantitative teams, operations and compliance.
• Drove adoption of proprietary execution technology. Translated the algorithmic execution wheel into measurable execution-quality improvements for head traders and PMs, converting a complex product into a business case each stakeholder could act on.
• Sold the block crossing ATS at client sites and orchestrated multi-million-dollar global program trades, aligning internal trading, technology and operations with client personnel across time zones.

• Sold execution into the buy side — agency order handling for Boston-area institutional accounts, high-touch and electronic. What clients were buying was expertise navigating the electronic marketplace, then fragmented across competing ECNs.
• Executed institutional orders across multiple third-party platforms — FlexTrade, LAVA, REDI, NYFIX Millennium, Instinet — and developed customized algorithmic strategies for individual clients.
• Built and grew the institutional client base from zero in a high-growth, resource-constrained startup with no established playbook.
