Project Management
Send a job offer directly to this candidate
Greetings,
With an undergraduate education at one of U.S. News' top ranked universities for Construction Engineering, I have a combined understanding of the various construction management structures (CMAR, Design-Build, Design-Bid, etc.) for delivering projects, as well as the project delivery process, and the ins-and-outs of the industry procedures, while also possessing mathematical knowledge of engineering structures, mechanical & electrical systems, building codes, contract law, and project cost analysis. During my education, I also exposure to industry-standard tools and software used in engineering design and in project management also began during my undergraduate career, as well as introductory courses into business communication.
I began my career with experience in estimating and pre-construction (ENR Top 100 Heavy/Civil Contractor - Sundt) where I became familiar with the RFP, estimating, and contract selection process from the corporate level. Since then, my professional experience has primarily consisted of managing start-to-finish construction from the jobsite level. This has included delivering projects to the client base through various contract methods (design-build, design-bid, CMAR, etc.).
Most recently, I have gained meaningful career experience as an owner-operator with RWE and have now expanded my professional competencies to facilitate duties for general contractors (EPCs) and owners (EPCMs).
More broadly, the project scopes and disciplines I have overseen in my career have included both self-perform work which focuses on tracking job status & production, and contract management which exclusively focuses on planning, scheduling, and forecasting. The projects I have serviced have ranged from hundreds of millions to billions in price (USD) across public and private sectors. These projects have included ground-up commercial high-rise construction (interior finishes, exterior finishes, structure), light-rail and highway construction (mechanical, electrical, utilities, earthwork), building renovation and site clearing (abatement of hazardous materials), and renewable projects which have included the successful erection of over one-hundred and fifty wind-turbines, producing hundreds of mega-watts of energy (substations, collection, erection, transmission & distribution).
For each of these disciplines, I have had many over-lapping duties in roles as project engineer, senior site manager, project manager, manager of pre-construction. These duties have covered nearly every aspect and responsibilities typically found within the industry at all stages of construction such as cost engineering, budgeting, value-engineering, quantity take-off, surveying, scheduling, forecasting, sequencing, QAQC, safety auditing, material procurement, purchasing, staging, contract drafting, bid solicitation, contract negotiation, contract execution, document control, change orders, production analysis, community outreach, team building, and leadership duties.
As part of my technical development, I have gained exposure to numerous types of industry leading software as well. I have hands on experience with many types of technical software for drafting, scheduling, reporting, estimating, as well as deploying collaboration tools for working with internal teams and clients. In the past, I have been responsible for creating comprehensive excel documents to compile production data, applying functions in MS Excel to produce the calculations, forecasts, and various other modeling for job progress, and production which in turn were used as the basis for financial forecasting, budgeting, and resource leveling to achieve project milestones.
Other core competencies have included producing caches of construction documentation for all project related contract documents, finance, and all relevant project related data related to communication within the project team.
Lastly, I am a confident public speaker, and I have developed salience in my ability to relay information in a clear, calm, and concise manner when working in a professional business setting with owners, designers, and subcontractors. I always strive to engage the people who I work with by being positive, sincere, objective, and having a can-do attitude.
I have a passion for learning and facing new challenges is an excellent way for retaining my engagement and enthusiasm. With flexibility in location, I am seeking something that would offer the ability to continue traveling while also being secured with a full-time employer, where I can demonstrate my aptitudes and develop into a team leader for future construction projects. I am highly interested in making a significant contribution for your team.
I would love to interview and discuss the position, and the ways I can help. I look forward to talking with you soon.
