My name is Yehonatan Asayag. I was born and raised in New York City and am a former Sergeant First Class in the Israel Defense Forces, where I served for four years in the Givati Brigade’s Special Reconnaissance Unit. I am currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology at St. John’s University, where I maintain a 4.0 GPA.
My professional foundation was built in operational environments that demanded discipline, situational awareness, sound judgment, and decisive action under extreme pressure. Throughout my military service, I participated in counterterrorism operations, reconnaissance missions, and high risk security activities while working alongside intelligence personnel in support of national security objectives. Following the October 7, 2023 attacks, I was recalled to active service and operated for months in Gaza, serving in complex and rapidly evolving environments.
This required professionalism and the ability to make responsible decisions under pressure.
These experiences strengthened my ability to assess threats, remain composed in uncertain situations, and carry out responsibilities with precision. Following my honorable discharge, I continued my commitment to public service through higher education In Queens New York, concentrating on criminal justice, behavioral threat assessment, and federal law.
I am eager to bring the same standards that defined my military career to the Federal Air Marshal Service. Serving and protecting the people of the United States would be both an honor and a responsibility that I would carry with the utmost professionalism and dedication for the rest of my life.
