Full Stack Developer (Expert) (Java Programming + SDLC + Microservices architecture and RESTFUL API development + NoSQL + Docker + Kubernetes)

Introduction

We are looking for an Expert Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing technology environment responsible for delivering scalable, reliable and innovative enterprise software solutions.

The successful candidate will take ownership of complex Java-based applications and services, contribute to architecture and technical design, and work closely with cross-functional development, DevOps and cloud teams. This is a senior technical role suited to an experienced developer who can solve complex problems, drive engineering best practices and mentor other developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust Java-based applications and services.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and deliver new features.
• Ensure application performance, quality, security and responsiveness.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration and automated tests.
• Participate in code reviews and promote high development standards.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with DevOps and cloud teams to deploy and manage applications.
• Troubleshoot complex software defects and production issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions.
• Monitor, maintain and ensure the availability and reliability of applications and systems.
• Participate in incident management and operational support activities.
• Document technical designs, processes and best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies, development practices and industry trends.
• Contribute to Agile delivery and other responsibilities assigned within the Agile Working Model.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Java programming and related frameworks such as JavaEE and Hibernate.
• Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
• Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance applications.
• Docker and containerisation technologies.
• Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Complex problem solving, debugging and production issue resolution.
• Git and modern version control practices.
• Writing clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Advantageous skills

• DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps.
• Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium or TestNG.
• CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or ELK.
• Software development security best practices.
• Python or Bash scripting.
• Message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Front-end technologies such as Angular or React.
