Junior Software Developer
Job description
Junior Software Developer | CabSync
On-site: Alberton, Gauteng, South Africa
Salary: R25,000 per month
Build software that makes a real difference on the factory floor.
CabSync is a manufacturing operating system for cabinet and joinery businesses. It connects design data, work orders, production tracking and factory workflows so teams can see what needs to happen next and where every part is in production.
We are looking for a junior developer with solid fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills and the curiosity to learn how software supports real manufacturing operations. You do not need to be an expert in every technology or manufacturing system we use.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Develop and improve React web screens for work orders, production workflows and analytics.
- Work with Supabase/PostgreSQL data, queries and application logic.
- Help maintain Flutter/Android scanning features and QR/barcode production tracking.
- Build and troubleshoot CSV imports and API integrations, including data from CAD, Cabinet Vision and Microvellum systems.
- Contribute to part routing through cutting, edging, drilling, spraying, assembly and flatpack workflows, as well as cutting optimisation modules.
- Investigate bugs, test changes, document your work and work with the team to turn factory needs into clear, usable features.
MUST-HAVE SKILLS
- A sound understanding of JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with practical React experience from work, studies or personal projects.
- Basic SQL and relational database knowledge, including tables, relationships and simple queries.
- An understanding of APIs, JSON and how a front end communicates with a backend.
- Familiarity with Git and a methodical approach to debugging and testing.
- Clear communication, attention to detail and willingness to ask questions and learn.
- Ability to work on-site in Alberton.
ADVANTAGES YOU CAN LEARN ON THE JOB
- TypeScript, Supabase and PostgreSQL beyond the basics.
- Flutter/Dart, Android applications and scanner integrations.
- QR/barcode workflows, CSV processing and third-party API integrations.
- CAD, Cabinet Vision or Microvellum data and integrations.
- Cabinet manufacturing, cutting optimisation, production routing and factory analytics.
These are advantages, not a checklist of requirements. We value a strong foundation and evidence that you can build, troubleshoot and learn. Relevant projects, internships and early-career experience are welcome.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through LinkedIn with your CV. If you have a GitHub profile, portfolio or project examples, include links so we can see what you have built.
