Process Engineer

• Africa A leading engineering solutions company is seeking a motivated and technically strong Process Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting process engineering projects from concept design through to commissioning and plant implementation across various industries.

Duties &

• Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with conceptual and detailed process design activities.
• Prepare Basis of Design and Scope Definition documentation.
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping &
  • Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

• Compile equipment datasheets, control philosophies (CFS/FDS), and performance criteria.
• Support procurement activities through equipment specifications and material take-offs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Provide site support during construction, commissioning, testing, and start-up activities.
• Participate in Performance Acceptance Tests (PAT) and project handovers.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc Engineering, BTech, National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant process engineering experience.
• Ability to interpret and develop PFDs and P&IDs.
• Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
• Valid driver's licence and own transport.
• Willingness to travel extensively within South Africa and Africa.

Preferred Process Systems Experience

• Brewing and beverage processing (beer, dairy, syrup, soft drinks, etc.).
• Brewhouse, syrup room, and yeast plant systems.
• CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems.
• Tank farms and process plant layouts.
• Gas systems including CO₂, N₂, Air, and NH₃.
• Boiler house and engine room systems.
