SQL Database Administrator

Datacentrix is looking for a

• *SQL DBA

with experience in

• *clustering, log shipping, and mirroring.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance of our organization's SQL Server database environment. Your expertise in these technologies will be crucial in designing, implementing, and managing database solutions that provide data integrity, availability, and seamless failover.

• *Required Qualifications:
• Matric plus Diploma/Degree in IT
• Microsoft SQL certification
• 10+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Strong understanding of PowerShell & T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, triggers etc.
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
• *Your Responsibilities will be:
• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Uphold data security and ensure compliance with organizational policies
• Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Configure and manage SQL failover clusters replication and Always on Availability groups
• Maintain SQL backups with regular and random restores to test the integrity of the backups.
• Install the latest SQL server service packs and cumulative upgrades.
• Capacity planning to support future growth.
• Authoring scripts and documentation for all aspects of database administration, including disaster recovery, and general architecture summaries.
