I hold an MSc in Food Technology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, with a specialization in biotechnology and fermentation. I am interested in sustainable and delicious food and have a passion for fungi both in and beyond the food industry. I believe that one of the most important ways to make an impact is through food.
I have interned at two food companies, namely Fresh Beverages (Food lovers market) and Skinny Scoop in South Africa, and a Bioremediation company in Italy for 6 months (DND Biotech). My thesis focused on fungal fermentation for improving the nutritional quality of protein in plant sources (1 year).
My education includes a MSc in Food Technology with a specialization in biotechnology and fermentation from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands and a BSc in Food Technology from Stellenbosch University.
