Alexander Black

I am busy with my MSc in Mathematics from the University of Johannesburg. My skills and analytical thinking will make me a valuable candidate for a graduate programme. I am eager to learn and to see how my mathematics skills can be applied to solving financial and risk management problems. Even though I am a pure mathematician, I have Statistics knowledge up to my second year, where we worked extensively in R.

Although my work experience thus far is mainly academic, having the responsibility of assistant lecturing and tutoring undergraduate mathematics for many years has significantly developed my communication skills.

Full time student currently busy with a MSc in Mathematics at the University of Johannesburg.

I am busy with my Masters Thesis, studying a field known as Spectral Theory in Banach

Algebras. For anyone who has done Linear Algebra, Spectral Theory is in a sense, generalized Eigen Value Theory; not only in matrices but in a far more broad set of mathematical structures called Banach Algebras.
