I am a Public Relations Management graduate, passionate about helping companies maintain a great public image.
I graduated in 2013, and due to financial reasons was unable to enter the PR industry as I was already working full-time in the tax industry prior to graduating. I however had the opportunity to volunteer at a church and their women’s ministry from 2012 to 2021, I assisted them with events, marketing the events, fund raisers and many feeding scheme initiatives where I requested donations and established a good relationship with the local media.
In my full-time career, I worked as a call centre agent at the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for 8 years, I gave tax guidance, assistance and reviewed previous returns and helped collect tax debt. After this, I worked at a division of Media24, Spree (now Superbalist) as a merchandise planner for 1 year and 6 months. I am currently working at TaxTim as a tax help desk manager, where I assist with complaints, social media queries, blogs and managing the day-to-day operations of the help desk staff.
I am currently registered with the South African Institute of tax professionals (SAIT) as a tax technician, as I enjoy working with numbers, but I enjoy the complexity of communications too.
As a Marketing and Public Relations Management intern, at the New Covenant Christian Church and the Covenant Women Inc NPO’s, I offered the following services: Social media management, paid advertising campaign management, complaints management, blogging, website design and updates, content management, donor support, and event management.
And lastly as a content creator, I write blogs for the TaxTim website, and I volunteer as a content creator at the Tygerberg Hills View Church.
