iDEXIS Compounding is seeking a Responsible Pharmacist to oversee the professional, regulatory, quality, and operational functions of the pharmacy. The appointed Responsible Pharmacist will ensure compliance with SAPC, SAHPRA, GPP, the Pharmacy Act, and all applicable pharmaceutical legislation, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and patient-centred care. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

Responsible Pharmacist - iDEXIS Compounding - Durban

• Act as the appointed Responsible Pharmacist in accordance with SAPC regulations.
• Ensure compliance with SAPC, SAHPRA, GPP, the Pharmacy Act, and all applicable pharmaceutical legislation.
• Maintain the pharmacy licence, regulatory documentation, records, registers, and batch documentation.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and Quality Management Systems.
• Lead internal audits and coordinate regulatory inspections and follow-up actions.
• Manage pharmacy staff, including pharmacist assistants, and support staff.
• Train and supervise pharmacy assistants to ensure safe and compliant practice.
• Oversee pharmacy operations, including receipt, storage, compounding, dispensing, and distribution of medicines.
• Manage inventory of finished products, raw materials, and scheduled substances.
• Ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of all pharmaceutical products supplied.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, inspectors, doctors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Investigate and manage ADRs, product quality concerns, defects, and recalls.
• Evaluate new product opportunities, including formulation, testing, and costing requirements.
• Provide regulatory and clinical guidance to internal teams, sales representatives, doctors, and clients.
• Provide final quality and regulatory sign-off on labels, batch documents, raw materials, finished products, and processed prescriptions.
• Uphold ethical, professional, and patient-centred standards of care.
