Founder & Managing Director at Benitourus Essential Services (2025-04 – Present)

Since April 2025, I have been focused on the founding and leadership of Benitourus Essential Services, a venture specializing in logistics, transport, and accommodation services. This period has been dedicated to honoring a family legacy through entrepreneurship, requiring a high degree of strategic planning, resilience, and operational management.

Technical Team Lead at FNB – Hogan Technologies (1999-04 – 2025-03)

Ben has been involved with Programming from the beginning of his career as a Trainee Programmer, he grew into various roles and levels of Programmer, Analyst Programmer, Application System Analyst Programmer and now Technical Team Lead for the Item Processing (ePayments) team in FNB Hogan Technology. His main focus has been Analysis, Design, Development, Production Support and Maintenance of minor and major enhancements (projects) of systems within the team (both Online and Batch).

As Technical Team

Lead, he now has added responsibilities to oversee the Architecture by offering Guidance to all team members in order to ensure implementation of sound, quality and flawless technical solutions. He also participates in the Hogan Technical Board where Designs of projects from other teams are reviewed to ensure compliance with the Hogan Architecture.

• Deposit Taking Institution: Accumulation of various Assets and Liabilities for the Bank throughout the month to be reported to the SARB.
• Code Line Clearing: Processes both FNB and Other banks' cheques captured at FNB branches that are sent to Bankserv. FNB cheques are then received from Bankserv and deposited into FNB customer accounts.
• Reference Validation: Validates credit references entered for payments made to Business clients using validation rules supplied upfront by the clients.
• Recipients System: Daily reconciliation and EFT processing for Business clients who require specialized processing.
• Branch & Account Validation: Validation of Branch and/or Account information to determine which bank a branch code and/or an account number belongs to. This system is very critical in routing electronic and/or cheque payments to the correct destination bank.
• Nominated Electronic Payment System: Payments system that allows individuals and/or small business owners to capture and make payments from their FNB accounts as Once-off, Beneficiary or Future dated payments to either FNB, Other Local or Offshore banks.
